Technology Salesperson
Columbia, MD
We are seeking a seasoned software account manager who has a knack for selling software.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Analysis of your assigned inbound leads (approximately 100-150 per month) with the ability to segment them into different customer classes based on potential value.
* Calling, e-mailing, and online chatting with prospects as they utilize our service during a free-trial period; typically 14 days
* Providing online demonstrations via web conferencing to help sell our service to different key personnel within the organization (decision makers, end users, etc).
* Facilitating customer trials and engaging them to ensure our service is implemented and running so they may experience it in the allotted free-trial time limit.
* Recording and auditing all customer interactions within our CRM system, currently Netsuite.
* Forecasting sales pipelines and opportunities.
This position requires:
* The ability to gain comprehensive knowledge of our service and our competitors so that you may competently discuss, demonstrate, and sell Velaro’s services.
* Since you will be working with a number of different size prospects, including small business (SMB) deals as well as larger “enterprises”, you must feel comfortable working with customers that may be worth $600 a year as well as customers worth $50,000 a year, simultaneously. Your quota will be two-fold, one being actual dollar amount, while the second being total number of leads to close ratio.
* A solid understanding of the software sales lifecycle and what it takes to win customers in a highly competitive environment.
* Attention to detail is critical. Although we are a smaller company in regard to employee size, we place a large emphasis on data collection and the management of all customer interactions.
* Effectively being able to negotiate minor contract issues that come up during the closing of a deal.
This is not a hunting / cold calling job; the leads come to you and are pre-qualified. Our current and previous sales people have made from 80 – 120K a year depending on their level of expertise.
You will be paid a base of $50,000 – $60,000 based on experience, along with a commission based on your new sales.
We are headquartered in Columbia, Maryland. Very little travel (occasional trade shows) or local face-to-face is required for this position.

Senior Microsoft .Net Developer

Velaro’s web based chat services and real-time visitor monitoring capabilities provide unique and powerful insight into our customer’s web traffic. We’re seeking an experienced Application Developer who’s interested in developing word class software as a service application.
The Application Developer will be responsible for many areas of our product’s development. Including the on-going addition of new features to our web-based control panel, our distributed server applications, and our Winforms client applications. In addition, the developer will also be responsible for troubleshooting existing problems, testing and deployment.
Successful candidates need development experience with Microsoft server applications, knowledge of database applications, SQL Server (preferably MSSQL 2005) and programming skills in csharp (C#), ASP.NET 2.0, ASPX, SQL, HTML, Javascript, and XML. Additional preference will be given to applicants who have experience with the DotNetNuke content management system, and full Winform client application development. A related degree and excellent communication and documentation skills are required. System security knowledge is a plus.

Channel Partner Manager

We are a uniquely positioned, cash flow positive, seven-year “start-up” that is experiencing a large growth phase, so a self-disciplined, highly organized, self-learning, confident individual is sought. Velaro is seeking a mid to senior level Channel Partner Manager who wants an opportunity to fully develop the Channel Partner Program from the ground up all the way to execution. This role will be dedicated to signing up new channel partners, using the program you develop to get Velaro’s services to the market faster and less expensive than our traditional advertising and marketing efforts. This means you will have to find unique ways to get in front of potential channel partners, hunt and sell them with little to no budget during initial stages of channel development.
The two key types of Channel Partners sought after will be E-commerce platform vendors and Web Design Firms, so having experience with these verticals are a plus. It will be necessary to define the Channel Partner program on two or more program levels such as Distributor or Referral Provider level.
You may also be working with other Velaro sales, marketing and software development personal to help produce public content, manage the marketing campaigns specific to building a Channel Partner Program and ensuring the proper support, service and systems (liaison to make the product easy to integrate) are in place to make it profitable and painless for Channel Partner’s to work with Velaro.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Draft initial channel partner program & white papers or any related necessary marketing materials, defining incentives and benefits to encourage channel partner sign-up and continual commitment.
* Handle day-to-day channel partner program.
* Ongoing coordination, maintenance and cultivation with channel partners, including continual account maintenance of channel partner.
* Create channel partner sales presentations
* Once channel partner is on board, ensuring smooth coordination of channel partner’s leads to sales team.
* Providing online demonstrations via web conferencing to help sell our service to different key personnel within the potential channel partner’s organization.
* Write website content for channel partner program
* The ability to gain comprehensive knowledge of our service and our competitors so that you may competently discuss, demonstrate, and sell Velaro’s services to the channel partners.
Requirements:
* Effectively track and optimize the results of marketing campaigns.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be writing at least one press release a month and drafting publicly consumable content.
* Proficient computer skills. We are a technology company, we live online, and we expect you to be comfortable with all MS or Mac office related tools: MS Word & PowerPoint or Pages & Keynote, etc. Web and /or graphic software experience is a plus.
* Experience with Adwords and other online advertising campaigns such as Overture
* A solid understanding of the software sales lifecycle and what it takes to win customers in a highly competitive environment.
* Attention to detail is critical. Although we are a smaller company in regard to employee size, we place a large emphasis on data collection and the management of all customer interactions, so recording and auditing all channel partner interactions within our CRM system, currently Netsuite is required.

* Willingness to help out where needed. As a successful start-up we are a versatile team and we help each other without hesitation. The position pays a salary of $50,000 – $60,000 a year, commensurate with experience, along with a commission based on new sales developed through your channels. Although there are no guarantees, if this position is executed correctly, a realistic yearly salary with commission could pay between $80,000 – $120,000.
We are headquartered in Columbia, Maryland. Initially we believe the majority of channel building will be local to the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan area, however travel (for trade shows) or face-to-face is required for this position. As the program grows more traveling may be involved, however if possible remote demoing of the product etc. may be sufficient in some cases.
