Systems Engineer

Velaro, Inc provides one of the most recognized and powerful web-based live help services on the market today.  We are seeking an individual with a strong technical background to join our team in Columbia, MD.  This position is designed for a Systems Engineer with a knowledge of Windows System administration. This candidate should will be in charge of our production web-farm as well as our office network. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with HIPPA, PCI and SAS70 standards and guidelines that govern information Security, privacy, incident response, data access, integrity, and services availability.

Required Skills:

- Experience in network administration (Windows).

- The applicant must have a background in Windows administration to help manage our network of production web servers, development servers, LAN (Windows) workstations and Web applications.

- Experience with security audits and compliance. HIPPA, SAS70, and PCI compliance

- Maintain up to date knowledge of PCI and other compliance requirements

- System security and scalability knowledge.

- Ability to quickly gather and digest technical knowledge then effectively implement gathered knowledge.

- Strong documentation ability.

- A Self-starter

Preferred Requirements:

- Be expert in managing and troubleshooting all common networking issues.

- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
